Moving on to the Bulk phase, you’ll start loading 5 new workouts, separating the muscle groups a little more - pulling Triceps and Biceps and putting them in their own day: Chest, Legs, Back, Arms, Shoulders. Each workout is roughly 40-50 minutes long. Lather, Rinse, Repeat - do those four, take a rest day, go back at it. Alternative to the bench is an inflated exercise ball, but the whole thing could be done with dumbbells and a sturdy chair, with resistance bands to cover the “pull-up” movements.įor the Build Phase you use 4 workouts, rotating for 3 weeks, consisting of exercises focused on specific muscle groups: Chest and Triceps, Legs, Back and Biceps, Shoulders (you’ll do “Beast Cardio” and “Beast Abs” in there, too, but I’ll get to those). Equipment recommended is an adjustable/incline workout bench, EZ-curl bar (with weight plates), pull-up bar, and, of course, dumbbells.
The exercises are pretty traditional, fundamental, with a few variations or combinations throughout. The Program is a “Bulk and Cut” routine, divided into 3 “phases” - Build, Bulk, and Beast - spending some time with hypertrophy exercises (encouraging muscle growth) in a calorie surplus (nutritionally cultivated calories!) and then finishing with a few weeks of “cutting” - more of an emphasis on calorie burning than muscle growth, while nutritionally trying to keep lean muscle mass in the process. 13 workouts, on 5 DVDs (counting the bonus “Lucky 7″ disc, and Abs), a user guide in the form of “Book of the Beast” (which talks about nutrition) and a workout schedule (what days to press play on which workouts) - workout sheets are available for download from.
